課程概述

所有的考古學研究與知識的建構都奠基在某一理論架構上而展開,這一理論架構影響著考古學者如何思考何謂考古學、考古學的材料(物質遺留與物質文化)、如何進行研究、如何詮釋考古資料、甚而如何衡量其他考古研究。也因為這些理論架構,讓考古學可以不斷反省本身的可能及侷限,使得這個學科不斷前進並與當代社會持續對話。本課將透過對歷時考古學理論的討論,熟悉考古學發展迄今的各項理論論述。 

課程目標
主要以討論考古學理論的發展歷史背景、理論概念與方法論、相關學者與其學術論述、以及研究主題等面向,以期由理論、方法論、學者的學術發展與論述、主題的角度瞭解什麼是考古學、其性質和目的,如何重建人類的生活方式、及其知識是如何產出的。 
課程要求
此為一碩士班進階討論課,故以同學們透過文獻的閱讀進行討論為主要課程進行方式,每堂課需要有一名帶討論的負責人,每位同學必須閱讀完所有文獻,並完成讀書摘要,在每次課堂上,負責同學準備不同的問題,帶動課堂討論。期末每位同學需完成一份期末報告,期末報告的書寫需符合學術寫作的要求。隨堂口頭報告與課堂參與(20%)、期中作業及指定教材和參考資料的閱讀(80%; 4/4)。
